Sapadere Canyon tour itinerary: how the day actually runs

1 · Hotel pickup

An air-conditioned vehicle collects you at your hotel entrance. From the Alanya belt the pickups fall in the 08:30–09:30 window on the canyon tour and around 08:55 on the Dim River tour; from the Side coast the operator follows a published resort table. Your own time is confirmed the day before. We do not print a fixed pickup time per hotel because it would be wrong for half of them.

2 · Transfer along the coast

From the western resorts the road runs east through Alanya; from the Side coast it is about 110 km with a comfort stop on the way where breakfast can be bought.

3 · The mountain road

The vehicle leaves the coast and climbs into the Taurus foothills through villages and pine forest. The air cools with the altitude.

4 · Sapadere village

The vehicle passes through the village the canyon is named after on the way to the canyon entrance. No village stop is promised on this itinerary; if the guide makes one, it is a bonus and not a claim we print.

5 · The canyon walkway

About 750 m of timber walkway with steel handrails hung above the river, between rock walls up to about 400 m high. Easy walking with some steps and uneven sections, at the group's pace.

6 · The waterfalls

The walkway ends at a chain of cascades and turquoise pools. This is the photograph of the day.

7 · Swimming — optional

In the natural pools when conditions allow and where the guide says it is safe. The water is cold all year. Many guests paddle or watch from the platforms.

8 · The cave — optional

On the canyon tours, Cüceler (Dwarfs') Cave near the canyon; on the Dim River tour, Dim Cave in the valley. Tickets are paid at the cave by those who go in. The stop can be skipped.

9 · Lunch

Grilled trout or chicken at a restaurant by the water, vegetarian on request; on the Dim River tour, on the floating platforms over the river; on the Side tour, at a restaurant in the Alanya region. Drinks are paid separately.

10 · Free time by the water

Tea, the last photographs, feet in the cold river on the Dim River tour.

11 · Return and hotel drop-off

The drive back to the coast and the drop-off at your hotel in the afternoon — about 7 hours after pickup on the canyon tour, about 8 on the Dim River tour, about 8 from Side. The order of stops can change on the day for safety, road or group reasons.
