The cave
Cüceler Cave — the Dwarfs' Cave beside Sapadere Canyon
A small show cave near the canyon, with stalactites and stalagmites and a viewing terrace at the entrance. On the canyon tours it is an optional stop: you pay at the door if you go in, and nobody pays if they don't.
What it is
Cüceler Mağarası — the Dwarfs' Cave — lies near Sapadere Canyon in the same fold of the Taurus foothills. Inside, a lit chamber of stalactites and stalagmites; outside, a terrace with a view over the valley. It is small, cool and quick: a quarter of an hour with the group is enough to see it.
How the stop works
On the canyon tour from Alanya and the tour from Side the vehicle stops at the cave on the way out of the canyon. Those who want to go in buy a ticket at the door; those who don't wait on the terrace or in the shade. The stop is optional in the true sense — it is not part of the price and it costs nothing to skip.
Why the ticket is not included
The cave sets its own admission and it can change during a season. Folding an unknown amount into the tour price would mean either overcharging everyone or guessing; charging at the door means you pay the real price on the day, only if you go in. We do not print the amount for the same reason — bring a little cash in euros.
Not the same as Dim Cave
Dim Cave is a different cave, in the Dim River valley east of Alanya. It is the optional cave on the canyon and Dim River tour, not on the canyon tours. If a cave is the reason you are choosing, the Sapadere versus Dim Cave page compares the two days.
Practical
- Cool inside — the layer you brought for the gorge is useful here too.
- Steps and a lit path; the same shoes that did the walkway do the cave.
- Photographs are fine; flash tends to flatten the colours.
- Ticket at the door, in cash; the guide tells you the amount on the day.
The cave is the optional footnote to the day; the canyon is the day. Book the Sapadere Canyon tour.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is the cave suitable for children?
Children who managed the walkway manage the cave; it is short and lit. Infants stay in an adult's arms.
What if I do not want to go in?
You wait on the terrace or by the vehicle. The stop is short and nothing is charged.
