Which Sapadere Canyon tour to choose

Start with the hotel, not with the tour

Hotels between Okurcalar and Kargıcak sit in the Alanya belt and have two departures to pick from, running daily. Hotels between Gündoğdu and Kızılot sit on the Side coast and have one, running Wednesdays and Sundays. The vehicles do not cross between the belts, so a guest in Kumköy cannot join an Alanya departure and a guest in Oba cannot join the Side one. That one fact answers the question for most people before they have read a price.

Inside the Alanya belt the geography still tilts things. Okurcalar sits at the far end of the pickup run and Mahmutlar sits close to the turning inland, so two guests paying the identical fare do not get an identical day in the vehicle. A party travelling with restless children tends to feel that gap more than it feels the price. If you are on the Side coast, open the tour from Side and check your dates first. If you are anywhere in the Alanya belt, you have a real choice to make, and it is the next section.

Alanya belt: the canyon alone, or the canyon and the Dim River

The canyon tour is the plain version of the day: the drive east, the walkway, the falls, lunch beside the water, home. About 7 hours door to door, €33 per adult and €23 per child aged 4–10, with the canyon entrance ticket already inside that figure.

The canyon and Dim River tour is the same morning with a second valley after it: lunch on the floating platforms over the Dim River, and the Dim Cave nearby for anyone who wants it, its ticket bought at the cave door. Take it if your party would rather sit above a river in the afternoon than be back at the hotel pool; take the plain one if a longer day with small children is the thing you are trying to avoid. The Side coast: one departure, two mornings a week

From the Side belt the Sapadere day runs Wednesdays and Sundays only, which makes the calendar the first thing to check rather than the price. It is a longer road — 110 km each way — so the day runs about 8 hours, with a comfort stop along the way where breakfast can be bought and is not part of the fare. €35 per adult, €23 per child.

One difference matters more than the fare. The Side departure leaves the gate fee to you — you hand it over on arrival — while both Alanya days have already settled that before you board. Keep cash in euros for it, alongside drinks and any cave ticket you decide to buy. The price page sets out every line of that.

The three departures side by side

Group or private

A group departure is a fixed route of hotels, a shared vehicle and a day that moves at the group's pace, for a per-person fare you can read before you commit to anything. A private day strips that out: your party alone in the vehicle, your own date, the pickup arranged around you, and the timing adjusted as far as the operation allows.

It is quoted per vehicle, and the figure moves with your date, your numbers and where you are staying, which is why this site prints none. Send the request and a person answers with one. A private day is worth asking about when your party is large enough to want the vehicle to itself, or when the hours of the day have to bend around something else. For a couple or a small family, the group departure is the one whose fare you can read before you decide.

Still undecided

Take the canyon tour from Alanya. At €33 per adult it is the lowest of the three group fares, it runs every day, so the calendar is never the thing that decides it for you, and it is the day the canyon is known for — the river afternoon and the private vehicle are additions to that day, not improvements on it. If you are on the Side coast the group decision is made for you: book the departure that comes to you, on one of its two mornings, or ask about a private day instead, and spend the saved argument on deciding whether anyone is getting into the water.
