Sapadere Canyon opening hours and season

A canyon, not a museum

Sapadere Canyon is open through the tourist season and visited in daylight; the walkway is not lit for night walking. Beyond that, we do not print an opening time and a closing time as if they were fixed for the year. The gate's hours can change with the season, and this site would rather be silent than wrong. If you are visiting on your own, ask at your hotel on the day.

What our tours do

On a tour the hours are not your problem. The canyon tour from Alanya and the Dim River version run every day in season; the Side departure runs on Wednesdays and Sundays. The group reaches the canyon in the middle of the day, when it is open and the light is in the gorge, and the guide knows the day's arrangements.

Guests who like certainty ask us to print an hour. We would rather tell you the day's arrangement the evening before, when it is true, than a timetable that was true last month — and on a tour the guide already knows it.

Rain, winter and closures

The canyon is a river gorge. After heavy rain the water rises and access can be limited; in winter conditions the same applies. When that happens the tour does not run and your reservation is moved to another date or cancelled free of charge — you never pay for a day that did not happen. Swimming and the water

The pools are fed by mountain springs and are cold in every month. Swimming is optional and possible when conditions allow, where the guide says it is safe; it is not switched on or off by a timetable. More on the swimming page.
